Hello

Is the structure "oblige somebody to be " correct?

We do not need to oblige our children to be involved with their schools' work.

Thank you in advance

I think you make it over complicated by using a negative here.

If this is what you are trying to say:
we do not need to make our kids do their school work, then you are correct.

Is that what you are trying to convey? What is your context for writing this?

Yes this is what I wanted to imply. However, you have changed the structure substantially. May I know whether the structure I used "oblige somebody to be " is considered to be grammatically correct or not? Also, is "their school work" correct or "their schools' work"?

The structure is plausible, but if we use it at all, we are more likely to use it with an adjective.
We obliged our children to be good.
But we are very unlikely to say it that way.

We are somewhat more likely to use it in the passive:
My children were obliged to be involved in their school work.

Your question about school work is a different topic and should have a different thread. However, both suzy and I have answered it by using the correct form in our examples.

No - I had not changed it, I had glossed it accurately in a bid to try and establish exactly what you are trying to communicate.

You still haven't said what you real context for this unlikely sentence is.
