Actress Judy speaks to Bernard:

Judy: I really feel just terrible about last night. I sincerely believed that I was coming down with something and I took a syrup for the flu and I was off with the fairies. And I just... I got so upset.

What's the meaning of "off with the fairies"?

Literally "I was off with the fairies" means "I left to go play with the fairies".

Here it means that (after drinking some flu syrup) she was dreaming and/or hallucinating.
