The Santos School of Petroleum Engineering and Management, sited on the axis marking the reinstatement of the Frome Road gateway entrance to Adelaide University, sensitively completes the urban design context of the University’s Lower Level Campus redevelopment. The School, funded by a philanthropic gesture by industry to academia, houses research and teaching facilities, as well as offices and training rooms for petroleum industry related partners. Facilities include research and teaching laboratories (petroleum engineering) with associated office accommodation. The office accommodation is predominantly open-plan with support facilities of reception, utility, flexible meeting and training spaces. Computer labs form a major component of the development which also includes a Virtual Reality Suite.
Dear all, this paragraph is about an education-related building project, I can understand most of them except for the words in red!
To provide my understanding first, the "associated office accomondation" refers to an office workspace connected to the laboratories;
"open plan" perhaps indicates the layout style, one can reach different departments without barrier;
well, about the Virtual Reality Suite, what is it actually? No idea... really need your help, thanks!
