On certification..

In korea, high school students have to take a national university entrance exam to go to college, but some students are admitted without the test depending on their academic performance in high school. In such case cay I say that

She was admitted on certifcation to a university? Or do you have any other suggestions?

She was admitted to the university on the basis of her previous academic performance.

Certification implies that she obtained a certificate of some kind, which means she was accepted on the basis of an examination, or a qualification, and not on her general academic work in school.

I guess I wouldn't say "on certification" since she's is not really getting certified for anything -- she's just being exempted from taking the test to go to college.

I would say " She went straight to college without taking the university admission test".
