"On someone's recommendation''

< Previous | Next >
Hello everyone,

Is the use of the word" recommendation" idiomatic/common in the context below? If not, what do you suggest? Please take a look.

a. In this city, you only get a good job on someone's recommendation. Meaning intended: If someone tells the people responsible that you are suitable for the job.

b. You will need someone's recommendation to get the permission. Meaning intended: You will need that someone tells the person responsible that you deserve the permission.

Thank you in advance!
