When ordering a steak, what is the Spanish term for 'on the turn', which I assume means that the steak is cooked just to the point where if you cooked it any longer, it would be too 'well done'?

    Hi there!!

In Mexico there are terms such as "término medio" y "bien cocido."

It was my understanding that the equivalent to "término medio" was "rare" so I wonder if it would be synonym to "on the turn".

    Regards,

    :)

    In Spain we say:
poco hecho, vuelta y vuelta ( rare)
    al punto ( medium)
pasado , muy hecho ( well done)
I'm not sure of the way you say it in English but that's the way we say it in Spanish

I especially like steak, but I have never hear the term "on the turn." Is it a British expression, perhaps?

From your description, the closest I can come to a Spanish translation would be: "un poco menos de bien hecho."

    Saludos.
