Hello

He also worked on a huge battle picture called ‘The Battle of Anghiari’ for the council-chamber of the Republic of Florence. Michelangelo was to paint a similar picture, but neither work was ever finished. Leonardo invented a new system of painting in oils on the wall, but ….

My question;
Does “on the wall” mean “on a wall” or “on any wall”?
I think it does.

    I think it does.
    You're right. It wasn't just one wall; it was a wall-painting technique, applicable to any wall.
