I thought that was what the waitress asked me? "Can I bring you coffee?" I thought the verb was supposed to be apporter so I guess I looked kind of stunned and she switched to English. Is amener correct? I missed my opportunity to speak French. In Quebec everyone seems so effortlessly bilingual that I don't get much chance to practise my French.

    Selon le TLFi, amener s'utilise comme synonyme d'apporter, en langage familier. Et c'est vrai qu'on l'entend souvent dans le langage courant.
