Hi,

I'm doing a reading test of IELTS, and the first paragraph says:
"Adults and chilrden are frequently confronted with statements about the alarming rate of loss of tropical rainforests. For example, one graphic illustration to which children might readily relate is the estimate that rainforests are being destroyed at a rate equivalent to one thousand football fields every forty minutes..."

What does "graphic illustration" mean here?

It means an example with a picture - in this case that the children can easily make a picture in their minds of how big a football field is.
