    Hi friends,

Do you think "open old wounds" can be used in the following context?

A: I gave up the opportunity to go abroad for further study for your sake, I spent so much time taking care of you when you got that serious disease, I ignored my parents' opposition to my being together with you ... but now you said you wouldn't marry me?!
B: Don't open old wounds with me. I never promised anything.

Could you share your ideas? <By the way>, I wrote the sentences myself. It may not sound natural.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think it can. It is not clear what those old wounds were.

Couldn't these things be old wounds? Could you be more specific? And your help is appreciated.

A wound is something that hurts. If the couple had some big arguments and the woman kept telling the man that she'd sarcificed a lot for him, those may be called wounds.

My view is that you could say it. It hints at a history of painful disagreement; maybe that is what you wish to do.

It sounds a bit odd to me as an imperative. :(

It might possibly work as something like "That's just opening old wounds".
