Hi,
I want to send some Anglican chants to my choir director so he can take a look at them:
Is open score okay, or is close/short score more convenient?
Vanno bene come spartiti aperti o fanno più comodo i spartiti chiusi?
I don’t think my attempt’s any good – I’m getting no hits. I suppose spartito rather than partitura would be right at least, since it’s only the vocal parts and no other instruments. Open score, in this case, means that the SATB parts each have their own staff, whereas closed score means soprano and alto on one staff, tenor and bass on another.
Mark
How are organ parts usually scored, I wonder? He directs from the organ. Two tenor staves for the hands and one bass for the pedals maybe? Not that this would really resolve the question of which format is most convenient to play on the organ.
