operatic cinema

Hello!
I have a question about "operatic cinema." I guess this expression describes a movie whose structure imitates that of an opera. However, the direct translation into Polish sounds a bit strange - I don't think "kino operowe" or "film operowy" are right. Could you help?

Here is the context:

In a film review there is information that the movie belongs to operatic cinema. The reviewer writes that the shots are carefully composed and combined with heavy chiaroscuro and appropriately selected music. And that it can be included in the group of works of Scorsese or Coppola.

Thanks for your answer :)

    Owocnego glowkowania, :D pozdrawiam!
