Order of adjectives

Which order is more acceptable and why?

A big, red and white, striped barber pole was next to the front door of...
A big, striped, red and white barber pole was next to the front door....

( especailly in whcih category does " striped' belong to? Is it shape?)

I would say:

"A big red and white striped barber pole"

"Striped" is referring to the colours of the pole and the pattern in which they are displayed.

"red and white striped" must stay together, with no comma.

It is not a red and white, striped pole.
It is a red and white striped pole.

I would say that the whole of that is "colour".
