Boa tarde.

Não consigo compreender a frase a negrito. Podem ajudar-me, por favor?

I walked out of that seminar so excited I felt like I could fly. It wasn’t just that there were actual tools that could help people; it was something about Phil’s attitude. He was laying himself, his theories, and tools out in the open.

Obrigada.

"Laying (something) out in the open" significa "expor (algo) abertamente". No caso especifico, que a pessoa não ocultava nada, expondo a si, a suas ferramentas e a suas teorias, sem medo de fazê-lo.
