when the cashier found that she had ____me by at least 5 dollars , she apologized for her carelessness.
overcharged discharged
I filled it with overcharged , answer given is discharged , which one do you think is proper ?

    The correct answer is "overcharged", meaning she had charged you too much.
    Discharge is when you let someone/something go e.g. "she was discharged from the hospital." "He was given an honorable discharge from the army"
