Which one is correct? Why?
1. The isolated beacon overlooks the mountain to the west.
2. The isolated beacon overlooks the mountain on the west.
3. The isolated beacon overlooks the mountain in the west.

    I see ambiguity here

Is the beacon on top of the mountain to which you refer or are you talking about some other sort of beacon that's looking at another mountain?

uh, I mean the beacon that's looking at another mountain. Is it the first one? If I refer to the beacon on the top of the mountain, is it the third one?
