Wow, I'd never have understood that without the explanation. I suppose it's connected to the electric shock sense of pêche? That's the only one that seems even vaguely close. Anyway, passing this over to @Lacuzon to see if this is a sense worth adding.

Yep, pêche meaning energy, dynamism may be used alone. Though most of the time it's used with the expression avoir la pêche. I don't know where it comes from.
