Si le français est plus figuratif, l'anglais l'est considérablement moins.

C'est pourquoi, pour cette phrase, il faudrait ajouter un adjectif pour exprimer ce contraste. A titre d'exemple, je dirais:

ou

The tough to match (?) poles of elegance and performance

ou
