Hello, I'm having a look at this ESL Textbook and I keep finding the abbreviation p.e. For example: Welcome to p.e. class, children! I'm really mystified. I've always thought P.E. had to be written in capital letters! So is this p.e. right or another of the so many mistakes that keep cropping up in this book? Thank you.

I would say that it should be P.E., as Physical Education is a subject and therefore should be in initial capitals. But let's see what others think.

Sounds like it's time to throw the book out and get a better one:)

I've never seen it in lower case before, which looks like something from chatspeak! PE is also known as PT (physical training) in some schools.
