Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble with the meaning of this phrase, it's from a legal contract. THe full phrase is:

Cabe indicar que el plazo antes señalado no exime a LA CONTRATISTA de pagar el concepto que por penalidad que le sea imputable

my attempt:

It should be noted that the time period outlined above does not exempt THE CONTRACTOR from paying the concept that by penalty is attributable to them

In this clause it talks of delay fees and failure to complete delivery, and it's the 'el concepto que por penalidad que le sea imputable' part that I don't quite get.

A
ny comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

DLF

That phrase is wrongly written. It should be:

Cabe indicar que el plazo antes señalado no exime a LA CONTRATISTA de pagar el concepto que por penalidad que le sea imputable

    Your translation is OK ;)

Looks like legal jargon for--- It is competent to affirm that the time limit previously indicated does not exempt The Contractor from the penalty payment as may be attributable to him.
