(I´m not pretty sure it´s Catalan)

    Hi everyone,

In a documentary about the Spanish Civil War (El frente y la retaguardia), it shows a building with the sign "Palau de Rumania". Was that/ is this just a palace or the romanian embassy? I don´t know the city - just that the building had been converted in a hospital.

    Thanks in advance

Palau is either a palace or a mansion or else a big public building or hall in a city. It corresponds to palacio in Spanish. So the Rumania palace/ building/ house/ center... depending on what you saw in the documentary. I would guess it wasn't an embassy.

I would guess too that it wasn't an embassy but the name Rumania seemed weird to me. Anyway, thanks a lot!
