Persian - 𐎱𐎾𐎿𐎡
- Someone tried to palm/fob some old coins off on me yesterday, saying they were rare and valuable.

Could the phrasal verbs be used interchangeably?

This may be a BE/AE difference:
I would say "to fob off some old coins on me", and not "fob me off with some old coins".
In other words, for me, the direct object is "coins", not "me".
I am more likely to use "palm off" than "fob off".
