Context: attributed to فریدالدّین گنج شکر عرف "بابا فرید"

کوئی بن گیا رونق پکھیاں دی، کوئی چھوڑ کے شیش محل چلیا
کوئی پلیا ناز تے نخریاں وچ، کوئی ریت گرم تے تھل چلیا
کوئی بُھل گیا مقصد آون دا، کوئی کر کے مقصد حل چلیا
ایتھے ہر کوئی *یار/فرید مسافر اے/ہے، کوئی اج چلیا کوئی کل چلیا

Questions:

  • Why isn't چھڈ used here? Would there be any difference between چھوڑ and چھڈ in this context?
  • What does پکھیاں refer to in this context?
    • پنکھے، پکھیرو or something else?
 
  • The words are "baNR", "rauNRaq", "pakkhiyaaN", "aavaNR"

    "chhaD" is not used in all dialects of Punjabi. In mine, it is "chhoR" while in my mother's it is "chhaD".

    "pakkhii" is a hut made of matted reed.

    (As mentioned in a few older threads, the symbols to represent NR are not always readily available. Therefore, I just typed them with the regular nuun.)
