Ciao! Sto cercando di tradurre in inglese un testo letterario sul potere della "parola" intesa proprio come espressione letteraria, letteratura.

La frase è: La loro (di alcuni scrittori) arte, la loro idea della parola somiglia a ...
    Io tradurrei:
Their art, their idea of literary expression..
perché: their idea of the word... non mi sembra un gran ché chiaro e suona male.
    Qualcuno avrebbe un suggerimento?
    Davvero grazie mille!

Mi veniva in mente anche : Their idea of words' use..
    Ma non sono ancora convintissima.
    Continuo a cercare...

What about "their concept of the written word"? In English you will hear "the spoken word" and "the written word" as serious concepts, but "word" by itself either has a religious meaning ("the Word of God") or not enough significance to satisfy this context.
