Hi,

How would you say the term above into English? Pasado Judicial in Colombia is a card that certifies you do not have any debt or problem with the police, state, etc.

    Police clearance comes to mind...It is a letter from the police stating that you have no criminal history.

    While not directly related the terms (criminal) background check and background clearance are used in the US as methods to accomplish the same goal.

    And do the people get that paper in order to what? Here people need to have this when they are trying to get a job, it is just a requisite, it does not mean the people are taken as criminals.
    Is it the same with the Police Clearance?

    Yes I had to provide police clearance in the form of a letter from the police from my city in the USA as part of my application for Mexican residency. It is evidence that I had no past criminal history.
