pay it all off

Hello,

I need to translate the next sentence:

" I was paying back my credit card bill in monthly instalments at an interest rate of 22.3%, when I could pay it all off at once for no charge."

My try:

Pay back. Simplemente pagar, no devolver.
    Pay off. Pagar completamente. Saldar.
    Saludos
I read that "pay back" can also means "devolver." But yes, in this case the best option is "pagar".
Pay off, pagar completamente. Saldar. That just what I thought, that's why I wrote " pagar todo de una vez." in my opinion, "pagar todo de una vez" it is the same as "saldar".

I think it is the same.
"... when I could have paid at once for no charge."- If I had read that I would have wrote " cuando pude haberlo pagado todo de una vez.". Of course I may be wrong.

    Thanks

Yes, that's a good point "Agró", you are completely right.

I forgot to ask you something. If pay back in this case it means "pagar", why didn't use "pay"? Namely, "I was paying my credit card bill in monthly instalments..."
