PC o elaboratore personale

    In everyday speech: simply computer :) Sometimes you can even say PC (peachy), but that's also the acronym for Partito Comunista ;)

    I often hear people call it "personal Computer" but I've never heard "elaboratore personale".

    Yes, that's true.
    But it's more likely to find elaboratore elettronico in books and schools than in spoken language.

    Elaboratore elettronico o personale is definitely written/technique language only. The usual name is computer. Pc is also very frequent (although it recalls political life). Just keep in mind that for laptop computer we use "portatile" with or without the mention pc/computer.
