Hello everyone,
If you want to give an example where there are some people, and you call them person A, person B, etc. I was wondering if I should add 'the' before their nicknames:
Suppose (the) person A tells (the) person B that...

Also, what about person 1, person 2:
Suppose (the) person 1 tells (the) person 2 that...

I'd prefer them without 'the'.

No, you shouldn't. Person A/1 fully identifies a specific person just as John Smith would. We know there's not going to be another "Person A" in the story. It doesn't need another specifier like "the".
