Personal cards

  • Is there a difference between a Stationery Printer and a Printing House?

Yes, Alaor. A stationery printer is run on a small scale and will take personal orders for cards, etc.

A printing house is huge by comparison and produces thousands of cards and paper goods for distribution to retailers.

PS: Note the difference in spelling -
    stationery - paper goods
    stationary - standing still.

A printing house will print many kinds of things besides stationery, e.g. books, magazines, and journals.

Note: Just so that you are aware, stationery is frequently misspelled as stationary even in business names.

Around here, we call it a print shop.

"Sisters Amy and Beth Salvini's fairly new print shop with old-world appeal focuses on handmade items and high-end stationery. . . A set of 100 custom printed invitations start at $300."

A print shop is generally a small business with a local focus. A printing house is generally a very large establishment that will print, for example, materials for publishing houses.
