pick a scab ?

Hi,

When a scab just formed on the skin, people used their fingers to attemp to remove it.

Can you provide a verb or verb phrase to describe this action?

Can I say pick a scab, or pick at a scab, or scratch a scab?

"Pick" is a great word here.
