pidiéndole todos los días algo

Here goes: my first thread here :D

I'm having a bit of a problem understanding this quote from Enrique Jardiel Poncela: "La mujer adora al hombre igual que el creyente adora a Dios; pidiéndole todos los días algo."

I think it's something like: "A woman loves a man just like a believer loves God: ________ (by asking something from him)? every day."

But... is it "by asking" or "she asks"... or...?
(I don't really speak Spanish... so I wouldn't know anything about tense or conjugation..)

Thank you so much for your help.

    Trisia,

A woman adores a man jut like a believe adores God; asking something of him every day.

yep those all work... Pidiendole (e with accent, school computer wont do accents..) literally means asking him.

I would definitely keep "adores." Tezza's suggestion is also praiseworthy because of the lyrical "feel" created by the use of "asking something of him." (I was going to suggest that, then I did a quick check and realized that Tezza had done this already.)

I need to amend this response because of the typographical errors:

A woman adores a man just like a believer adores God; asking something of him every day.

    My apologies.

Bibiolept, thank you for your kind words.

    Thanks again, Tezza and Bibliolept.
(I wouldn't worry that much about those typos though, but I'm glad I have a final version that sounds so nice)
