Spanish to English pinto

Dictionary entry: pinto

Jimmy clifford

This is slightly off the mark. A Paint has larger colored areas, ranging from browns to yellows, while a "dappled" horse has smaller oval 'manchas'. A dappled horse in the U.S. is called an Appalousa, having a grey body with dapples on the rump terminating in black in the rear and tail. I.e. dapples and Pinto are two different animals.
"The Paint had beautiful browns and sandy colors all over the body with a white undercoat."
