Company pyramids or Pyramid companies?

The text I'm translating says that it is more likely for majority shareholders to make decisions without calculating the risk involved "nella presenza di piramidi societari". It seems more plausible that this would be translated as "company pyramids", but google only comes up with "pyramid companies". What is the correct answer?

Hmmm...is the text talking about the classic "pyramid scheme" companies?
If yes, then I'd vote for "pyramid companies".

Hmmm, I'm uncertain. It speaks about the pyrmidal model, but I highly doubt its a pyrimad scheme, which would be illegal in Italy. The main subject is the risks controlling shareholders take by making decisions that do not consider the consequences on minority shareholders or long-term effects in a company.
