For "plats à emporter italiens", I could say "Italian take-away food" (couldn't i ?). I would like to know if "take-away" can be a noun : "Italian take-aways" or if i really have to precise it's about food.

Take-away can indeed be a noun, but it could be ambiguous. "Italian take-aways" could mean the food or it could mean the shops.

Better to stick with "Italian take-away food"
