Hi caro44, Hmm, I think we need some context. For example, if you asked me what I do at the weekends, I could say either, there's no difference. Who do you want to say this to, or what are translating?
Well, I am not translating, I am learning vocabulary about hobbies and this is very confusing
My question is : what is the difference between "play golf" and "go golfing" in general.
I don't see much difference, except "go golfing" involves the notion of travelling to do it. Perhaps, if you met Tiger Woods and asked him what he did for a living, he'd say "I play golf" (or probably "I'm a professional golfer"), but if you asked me what my hobby was, I could say either.
