Hello every one,

I would like you ask you meaning of the red word “plethoric multiplication” here in this case.

" On the other hand, there is a textbook for each topic for each school year, a fact that does not facilitate creating links among the disciplines and, moreover, leads to a plethoric multiplication of textbooks."

There above sentence is a document on education, here is link

http://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ756214.pdf ?

Many thanks,

At first I thought "plethoric multiplication" must be a joke, but now I realise it's probably a literal transfer from the French. Here it just means "too many". Don't use it.
