Hello,

I was wondering why it is "po co się martwić?" and not "dlaczego się martwić?" ?

    Hello,

I was wondering why it is "po co się martwić?" and not "dlaczego się martwić?" ?
Asking this particular question, we seem to be more interested in the aim of someone's worrying rather than in the reason of it. If the aim is not worth it, don't worry. ;)

And if I were to ask "why are you worrying", I would say "czy dlaczego + się martwić conjugated" ?

Yes. Dlaczego się martwisz (sg)/martwicie (pl)? Though, to my experience, it's not a common question, I think something more common would be: Co cię gryzie/martwi/trapi? or Co się stało? This is not to say there is something wrong with 'Dlaczego się martwisz?'.

Po co się martwić? is a kind of 'don't worry (everything's gonna be all right); you're worrying unnecessarily'. You don't really expect an answer.
