Ciao tutti,

Ho un elenco di componenti per un modulo pompa di alimentazione di un motore da tradurre. Trovo:

4. Pompa aspirante (Jet-Pump)
5. Valvola di non ritorno della pompa autoaspirante

I think I might be be able to translate them as (4) ‘suction pump’ and (5) ‘self-priming pump’, but I’m not sure, and the fact that aspirante becomes ‘suction’ at one point and ‘priming’ in the next line gives me pause for thought…

There’s also pompa aspirante = lift pump as an option in the WR dictionary.

"Pompa aspirante" = "suction pump";

"valvola di non ritorno della pompa autoaspirante" = "check valve, clack valve, non-return valve or one-way valve for self-priming pump".Il termine più usato è "check valve".

Nota: il termine "autoaspirante" non è molto corretto, si dice abitualmente "autoadescante".

Excellent , thanks. The termbase for the client has “check valve” in any case, but I trust our termbases about as far as I can throw them, so thanks for the tip!
