Bonjour, je voudrais parler d'un prélèvement archéologique (lorsqu'on prend de la matière), comment traduire cela ? Voire même un prélèvement en motte, c'est-à-dire un prélèvement d'un bloc, qu'on peut fouiller plus tard. Merci pour votre aide !!

    Block excavations usually require more space than completely excavated artifacts, and sometimes also require more controlled storage conditions. The identification of artifacts in block excavation should be secondary to the proper removal of fragile material

    J'aurais dit "a sample/an excavation sample".
    Sampling is a strategy that an archaeologist uses to investigate a region, site, or set of artifacts.
