Hello, is there an egg crises all over the word? I hear Japanese complaining about the price of eggs, and 1 egg costs 6 CZK about 0,27 USD. Did eggs get very expensive in your country, too?

In Sweden the price on eggs had gone up with 31% between Febryary 2022 and February 2023, due to high prices on feed and electricity. There has also been a shortage on eggs, one reason was that the ckickens at some of the largest egg producers got infected by salmonella, and all the chickens had to be killed.

    Price of 10 eggs SEK 30 - 40 -> US$ 3 - 4; € 2.75 - 3.65

    In Quebec :

    A dozen of eggs : 3,99 CAD = 2,72 EUR = 2,95 USD

    A liter of milk : 2,10 to 2,27 CAD = 1,43 to 1,54 EUR = 1,55 to 1,68 USD

They did for a few months over here, and it wasn't until about a month that they became cheaper once more. The kilo went from around 1,78 USD to ~2,67 USD, peaking (in the capital) at around 2,97 USD, though I remember reading it peaked at close to 6,00 USD along the northern border! Right now it's somewhere between 1,96 and 2,26 USD.

Yes, milk hasn't become too expensive here in the last 10 years.
Lucky you, over here the liter costs almost 2.5 times as much as it did 10 years ago...

Are eggs sold by weight in Mexico?
If so, this should be a new topic in Culture Café.
Not sure if it warrants a thread of its own, since I don't know if it's an unusual ocurrence elsewhere in the world.
They are indeed commonly sold by weight over here, but you can also buy them by carton or box (especially in supermarkets), with different sizes available, such as these:

    In my local supermarket:
(Cow's) Milk: $0.86 to $2,20 per quart, depending on the size of the container, whether the cows had organic feed, and maybe whether it's whole milk, fat-free, etc.
Eggs: #1.50 to $5.50 a dozen, depending on whether the hens are cage-free, what they're fed, and the size of the eggs. Eggs were more expensive in the winter of 2022-23.

    A liter of milk : 2,10 to 2,27 CAD = 1,43 to 1,54 EUR = 1,55 to 1,68 USD
    A bit cheaper in Paris:
    dozen of eggs: ~1.50€ - 2.00€
    liter of milk: ~1.00€

In 2023, eggs in Moscow groceries cost roughly from 45 to 100 roubles for 10 eggs, i.e. $0.45 - $1.
3.2% milk is roughly from 65 to 105 roubles per liter, i.e. $0.65-$1.05 (though it is NEVER sold in 1-liter bottles or packages, so you need to do some calculations for exact prices).
I haven't seen music CDs in ages. A lot has changed since 2006 beside the value of USD.

^^Forgot to add the price of milk:
-Cow's milk 3.5% fat (whole milk) from 1€ - 1.80€ (1.07$ - 1.92$) per lt (depending on how small the farm is and whether the cows are organically fed).
    -Cow's milk 1.7% fat from 1.50€ - 1.70€ (1.60$ - 1.81$) per lt (same preconditions).
-Goat's milk (yes it's thing here) 3.7% fat from 2.80€ - 3.30€ (3$ - 3.52$) per lt (depending on the area of the farm and the transportation cost).

    -Goat's milk 1.7% fat 2.80€ - 2.90€ (3$ - 3.10$) per lt.

In my local supermarket they also have sheep's milk, 1.5% fat, sold for 2.80€ (3$) per lt. It's getting very rare to find though, because the majority of sheep's milk is going to the cheese industry here (which is huge)
