    If you are in the university setting, we would use either Dr. or Professor as a courtesy title in the U.S., but never both together.

    If, on the other hand, it's outside the educational setting, we might use neither.

    The Associated Press Stylebook, used by nearly all U.S. newspapers and journalism schools, reserves the courtesy title "Dr." for doctors of medicine or dentistry.
