Would I use proeminant or preeminant (or neither) when describing a good location (for a shop)? The location is prominent because a lot of people pass by.

    Hello La Pie

Location can also be rendered in French as « emplacement ».

My effort : Un emplacement de choix / stratégique

    is good.
Other options will combine what has been said :
Magasin situé dans un [bon] emplacement de choix / stratégique .
Magasin situé dans un endroit passant.

I hadn't noticed magasin bien situé. I agree that it works.

There was only endroit bien en vue, when I first looked. And it wouldn't be my choice in context. ;)

    I would say - but I could be wrong - that ... shop = boutique / store = magasin
