Could you please tell me the correct pronunciation of Holmes? Is /həʊImz/ or /hɔ:Imz/ ?

As in Sherlock, I assume? Have a listen at forvo where there's a British and American pronunciation.

I assume Hermione means that the vowel is as in homes​, and she doesn't mean that the L is silent.
