Do "murder" and "murderer" merge in quick American speech? I've often found "erer" as in "murderer" or "gatherer" is too much to handle even in slow speech: we're talking a sequence of two unstressed rhotic schwas after all.

    I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "merge". You sound like a phonetics phan. :)

    For me, in quick speech, "murderer" gets reduced to "murdrer", if that helps.
