Pronunciation: the pausing of tongue in saying consonants

Do the time of pausing of tongue when we say consonants(e.g the pausing of tip of tongue saying t,d ....) depend on what?Is it correct that when we say fast the pausing time is shorter(and it is also possible there are overlap,undershooting when saying)?

    I don't understand. What is the "pausing of the tongue"? What pause?

    I don't understand "pausing". I don't understand "overlap" or "undershoot".

    I mean closure time in e.g stop consonant.In a syllable consonant follows by other letter,so there may be a overlapping in saying
