In this sentence, I think the word "propension" has been used uncorrectly.

"We correct for self-selection by incorporating a transformation of these predicted individual probabilities as an additional explanatory variable in our estimation of women’s propensity of experiencing domestic violence."

I can't see how "women's propensity" and "experience domestic violence" can be linked (unless those women are masochists!).

Any idea of a translation that could be better than "propension" ?

    Pour la traduction, je dirai "exposition" qui couvre "propensity of experiencing" pour le coup.

    Pour l'utilisation incorrecte, je suis a priori d'accord mais si c'est le message de l'auteur, ça peut marcher.
