Pulled over by the police...

I am looking for another way of saying pulled over by the police . You know when they ask to park your car on the side etc.....

    I was told to pull over.

    I had to pull over.

    They pulled me over.

    In America at least, I don't know of any synonyms for being "pulled over" that anyone would actually use.

    There are other related phrases, but none that mean quite the same thing.

    maybe you could say "flagged down by the police " - especially if they were at kerbside (not driving alongside you) when"they indicated for you to stop?
