Hello - I am doing a translation from english into danish. I am interested in the meaning of the words punched up. The sentence is: "It's gonna be fabulous once it's beed punched up". It refers to a story. The story in gonna be fab...Hope there is someone who can help me. Thanks.

    I assume the original text is "it's been punched up."
    When something is "punched up," it's been improved in some manner, maybe made faster, flashier, louder, etc. It is more attractive or effective.

    I agree with Bibliolept. The idea is that it has been given some punch - some ironic bite, some quirky humour, some aphoristic zest.

    If someone says it'll be good when it's punched up, it suggests he doesn't think it's very good now.
