Hi,

Are the following sentences equivalent?

1. Usne ek khat likha si.
2. Usne ek khat likha hai.
3. Usne ek khat likhiya.
4. Usne ek khat likhiya si /hai.

Thanks

There's a lot of Hindi/Punjabi mixing going on in your sentences.

I'm not a native speaker, but I'd think your options are:

    usne ik xat likhiyaa
    usne ik xat likhiyaa hai
    usne ik xat likhiyaa si

    It's not a 1 to 1 mapping with English by any stretch, but broadly 1) S/He wrote a letter, 2) S/He has written a letter, and 3) S/he had written a letter

    3. Usne ek khat likhiya.
    4. Usne ek khat likhiya si /hai.
Likha is not a Punjabi word. In Punjabi the word is likhiya. So constructs 3 and 4 are Ok still, but Usne is also not correct word in Punjabi. Usne and likha are used in Hindi/Urdu. The Punjabi word for he is Osne or better Oh'ne ਉਸਨੇ ਇਕ ਖਤ ਲਿਖਿਆ- ਓਹਨੇ ਇਕ ਖਤ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ
