Which term is correct in the following sentence, "pursuing" or "in the pursuit of"

Unless some weaknesses in our business operations are there, we will never search a partner to complement the weaknesses we experience "pursuing" / " in the pursuit of" the expansion of our business across the globe.

"pursuing" because it's "pursuing expansion" so it implies chasing something abstract.

"in pursuit of" would probably be more of a physical thing.

That's only a slight nuance though, and either is grammatically correct.
